Why “Clear Space”?
I choose “Clear Space” for the name of my business because let’s face it: most of us need to clear more space in our lives for the things that matter most; taking care of ourselves, our families, our friends and communities. My goal is to help create that space for my clients.
Why hire me?
I’m a great match for a very particular kind of client: the kind that wants to develop a real working relationship with the person helping them. I show up for my clients in very meaningful ways; a kind of consistent “I’ve got your back”. Because of this, we often become authentic friends.
What’s it like to work with me?
I’ve been told I dish out “sunshine, tough love and really good belly laughs” all in a singular visit. My approach tends to be empathetic, energetic and thoughtful. I consider myself extremely productive and work hard to “find the funny” in what can sometimes feel like a bit of a daunting task.
What does this sort of endeavor cost?
Excellent question. It depends on your needs and scope of work. After our initial conversation, if you decide we are a good working fit, we can discuss an hourly rate for your project. I do require payment by check, cash or Venmo upon the completion of each working session.
Do I have a team?
Nope, no team; it’s just me. I value the relationships I build with clients and prefer to be 100% in charge of the process and the product. (And it helps improve the efficiency of the process by being the same person a client meets with every time.)
How far will I travel?
I am located in Cumberland County, Maine, and though I am happy to travel and/or have remote working sessions over Zoom, I generally assist clients in Greater Portland.
Am I insistent on change?
I will be an unbiased 3rd-party voice of reason and ask you compelling questions that may lead you to change your mind about how you approach situations or your physical belongings. (“What will you do in the future with four rusted cheese graters?”) Your belongings, your space, your call.
Will I be shocked?
Ha, try me. What I mean to say is, I’ve seen a lot, and I haven’t thrown in the towel yet.
People who need organizational help are often too scared to ask for it because of how they feel they will be judged. I am here to make you feel comfortable sharing whatever situation you find yourself in and will work steadily towards creating progress you can see and feel.
What if a client gets emotional?
The work I help clients with can be very emotional, and I understand this to the fullest. The entire process is 100% confidential; if you need to cry it out at some point, the only ones who will know will be you, me and the watered-down cup of coffee in front of you.
Why do I love this job so much?
The truth: I originally got into this business because I love organizing…I stay in this business because I love people; I love all my clients. I find it incredibly rewarding to be able to meet people exactly where they are in their lives and figure out the kind of organizational help they need to allow positive transformation to occur.
And, because, well, sometimes I get to throw out high-fives when clients get as excited as I do about the work we undertake together.
